Shipping News FeatureAUSTRIA – RUSSIA – Austrian headquartered freight forwarding and logistics group Gebrüder Weiss says it has closed a gap in its global network with the news it is opening new facilities in Moscow. The new team in the Russian capital, currently consisting of nine employees, will henceforth be offering services in the area of air and sea freight, land transport and multimodal solutions, logistics and project business.

The location will be managed by Nadya Chudaleva, Regional Manager GW Russia, who will report directly to Vojislav Jevtic, Regional Management Air & Sea Asia at Gebrüder Weiss. The new location will consist of three branches, one in the centre of Moscow, one at Sheremetyevo airport and another at Domodedovo airport and the company says the new arrangement bridges a gap in its services between Europe and Asia, and with Russia ranking among the most important global markets, there are plans to increase the workforce to a total of about 20 employees by the end of the year.

With the takeover of Far Freight a year ago, Gebrüder Weiss took an important strategic step in the region. The freight forwarder has many years of experience in the handling of land, air and sea transports as well as project business in CIS countries and the Caucasus and with the new branches, Gebrüder Weiss says it is further expanding its local competence in Russia. Vojislav Jevtic commented:

For our customers, Russia is an important market with enormous development potential. With its experienced employees, Gebrüder Weiss will be offering its complete range of services locally with a direct link to its global branch network. We are investing close to our customers and suppliers. With our own branches locally, we can provide the highest level of service.”
