International companies see opportunity in Russian Power Market

PennWell Message about Upcoming POWER-GEN Russia and HydroVision Russia Events in March 2015

PennWell Corporation is continuing its long-standing commitment to provide a forum for power professionals and service and product suppliers in the Russian electric power sector – both within Russia and internationally – to come together annually to share ideas, solutions, and innovations for improving Russia’s power sector.

The upcoming POWER-GEN Russia/HydroVision Russia conference and exhibition – occurring 3-5 March 2015, in Moscow – represent the only truly international event serving the Russian power sector.

According to SEEPX Energy, an independent analytical and research company with offices in the United Kingdom and Russia, the size of the investment opportunity in Russia’s power sector and continued calls for sector modernization means business opportunities still remain open, particularly for foreign equipment manufacturers and technology providers.

International companies recognize these opportunities and are responding  – companies from more than 17 countries outside Russia are already committed to exhibit at the 2015 POWER-GEN Russia/HydroVision Russia – to date, more international companies are signed up to exhibit this year, compared to last year.

The March 2015 POWER-GEN Russia/HydroVision Russia events promise to be an important opportunity for power professionals and decision makers in Russia and the international community to come together to discuss how to achieve new capacity development plans in Russia.

According to a government-approved program for new electric capacity development from 2014 to 2020, released August 1, 2014, Russia plans to launch 28.6 gigawatts of new capacity, out of which:

–          15.4 GW will come from thermal
–          10.2 GW will come from nuclear
–          1.6 MW will come from hydro
–          0.5 GW will come from renewables
