The first day of the industry-setting event, which is hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), will commence with a royal opening ceremony, followed by a ministerial panel session on developing in-country value by investing in and developing capable technical professionals.

Day one will also feature the first of two executive plenary sessions that will highlight the important role of innovation and leadership in making progress in the energy sector. The day will conclude with the announcement of this year’s winners of the ADIPEC Awards, which celebrate excellence in energy and recognize innovation in the Middle East. The ceremony and dinner reception, hosted by ADNOC, will take place at the Emirates Palace.
Held under the theme, challenges and opportunities for the next 30 years, ADIPEC 2014 celebrates its 30th anniversary by breaking its previous records with the largest conference to date and the greatest number of participating national and international oil companies. Companies representing major market players, including China, the United States and Russia, will be present at this year’s event, as well as regional players Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.
Emerging markets, including Indonesia and India, have also confirmed their participation in ADIPEC for the first time, further establishing the four-day event as a global meeting point where industry leaders can exchange ideas on addressing the world’s pressing energy needs.
The ADIPEC 2014 Technical Conference will bring together more than 450 speakers from 111 organizations, with 81 technical sessions, four academic sessions, special IT sessions, as well as three topical breakfasts and luncheons. A dedicated VIP program geared toward senior industry representatives will spotlight some of the most critical issues in the industry.
The opening day will conclude with the ADIPEC Awards ceremony.
The ADIPEC 2014 Awards, chaired by Abdul Munim Saif Al-Kindy, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations, welcomed a record 396 submissions this year, featuring some of the most innovative projects in the region that have been adjudicated by a prestigious committee of 26 industry experts.
